A dream is only a dream. I did not follow that dream. Instead, I moved into a fast-paced and changing world of computers. I moved out of dreamland and into the world of reality.
The telescope sits in the garage collecting dust while I sit comfortably inside the house.
I play with my computer network connecting to the Cyber-Universe. No need to worry about mosquitoes and cold winter air anymore. The computer is my spaceship into the Cyber-Universe. There’s no time travel through a folding timeline or hyperspace by folding space and time. Now, it’s only virtual travel through the myriad of worlds. I ride the electrical wave instead of the gravity wave. I communicate with other life forms using streams of text messages, not radio signals.
The childhood dream of becoming an Astronomer can not escape from my memory. I enjoyed my telescope in the polluted Sydney sky and many cold nights under the stars. Now, all that is history.
